At Home with Kaye Adams

Kaye Adams is one of the best-known faces on UK television to come out of Scotland, most recently as host of ITV’s Loose Women. Her latest production, however, has been closer to home – a baby girl, Bonnie, who was born in February. Her first daughter, Charly, is now four-years old. Kaye combines parenting with her television work, and as well as being a co-patron of the Scottish children’s charity, Special Needs Information Post, she was appointed a UNICEF UK Ambassador for Scotland in 2005.

It's all my fault

Let’s face it, no matter how much we do as dads, we are destined to spend our lives in the debit column with our women.

Terrible Tantrums

There you are, standing at the checkout aisle at the super market when your child spies the sweeties you have been blocking from her view. As soon as you say no she begins to kick and scream. Everyone is looking at you and your face burns with embarrassment. Is this your fault? As children get older the intensity of their anger can unleash full-force temper storms. How do we avoid these?

Eco Family

“Reduce, reuse and recycle” goes the green mantra. But now there’s another way to lighten your family’s collective carbon footprint: Freecycling. Thousands of people across Scotland have signed up to their local Freecycle group website to offer other members unwanted items for free – or request something they need.

A Treasured Island

Easter and its eggs are rolling ever nearer, but for those who want a wee break – and haven’t got anything booked – why not take the family on a last-minute holiday in Scotland?

Blooming Garden

The garden has been a barren, forlorn, no-go zone for the past few months. But now, gradually, there are signs of life. And what better time than spring to introduce your kids to the joy of growing their own fruit and veg?

Happy Mum's Day

It might have become a more commercial occasion in recent years, but Mother’s Day, or Mothering Sunday as it was known, dates back to the 17th century – and the sentiment of showing your appreciation and love for you dear old mum is just as important today as it was hundreds years ago.

If You See a Walkodile

Field trips out of school sparked Elaine Stephen's, initial idea for a child safety device to get pupils from A to B. Elaine, a primary school teacher from Aberdeenshire, simply wanted to make sure the young children under her care were as safe as possible.
